"Reggie" - The Final Letter written by Byron Lewis to Reggie Long

Dear Reggie,

I hope you forgive me for not having the fortitude to continue on your journey with you, but mine lies elsewhere.

When you remember me I suggest you picture the first time we met. See the funny old man flying naked into the darkness of the early morning, if only to make you laugh. Although as I've explained clothes would have weighed me down too much with those wings I cobbled together.

I don't know if these tickets are still good, but I was invited there once and I know it will not be an easy journey. You have been searching for a true north to your compass for as long as I have known you. Or south as it were. I pray you reach your destination and find the truth you are looking for, but I caution you because I care about you.

Everything that brought us together may be part of a grand design. But the truth is relative. What you see is all that matters.

Your friend now and forever,

Byron
